Directions to the Rock Climbing at Gerakopetra

The sport climbing at Gerakopetra is easily accessed from the F709 Paphos to Polis road.

Approaching from Polis take the first road off to the left that is signed to Drouseia and Inea. Follow the road to Ineia where the cafe is passed on the right. Shortly after the cafe there is a three way road junction. The rock climbing areas of Koratgoi and Alikou are accessed by taking the left fork, but to reach Gerakopetra the middle fork is needed. After about a kilometer take a small road on the left to an army base which is marked by barred and no entry signs! As the road flattens out at the brow of the hill do not continue towards the army base, but instead take the dirt road to the right. The way is marked by climbing signs as shown in the photograph below. There are several pull ins where a two wheel drive car may park. Those with a four wheel drive can continue along the descending track and park at the top of the crag.

Rock Climbing on the Akamas Peninsula

The sport climbing area of Gerakopetra has great views west to the coast of the Akamas Peninsula and in particular the duel bays of Cape Lara. The north west facing aspect of the crag also means there are views north up the Akamas Peninsula.

The north west aspect of the crag means that it remains shaded in the morning.

Post climbing refreshment may be taken at the cafe in Ineia
